Inspiration For My Work

I was hiking in a beautiful coastal National Park along California’s rugged Pacific coastline one day when I realized that I wasn’t fond of my job and needed to change the course of my life. As I sat on the top of a cliff looking out over the ocean, I realized that I was my happiest when I was outdoors in the natural world. A week later, I was a volunteer for the National Park Service. Within 6 months, I was enrolled in a conservation biology graduate program. And within a year, I was working under the head biologist at that very same national park.
